Power Conditioning Unit (PCU)

Power Conditioning Unit (PCU)

The Power Conditioning Unit is a component of the A400M Floor-based Cargo Handling System. The Power Conditioning Unit (PCU) converts aircraft 115 VAC 3-phase power to 28 VDC, which is used to operate actuators (DC motors) in 40 movable locks/flanges. The 115VAC source is controlled by the Load Master Work Station (LMWS). Power should only be available during maintenance, loading and unloading, and during an aerial delivery mission; the input power will not be present during normal cargo transport flight segments.
